CoatMasters on Soundwalls for GDOT I-285 Project, Atlanta, GA

Final coating phase of GDOT (Georgia Department of Transportation) reconstruction project on interstate 285 NB from CR 4519 to Orchard Road is scheduled for completion by year’s end. A total of 900,000 square feet of Soundwall panels supplied by Oldcastle Precast was coated by CoatMasters Matte – Sacrificial Anti-Graffiti coating, an approved and qualified product by GDOT matched to Fed Std #36622, and was applied by airless spraying technique.

The entire I285 reconstruction is a billion-dollar project and considered one of the expensive highway projects in the state’s history. A portion of the work was performed by C.W. Matthews Contracting, Co. of Marietta, GA. The coating work began early of this year and is now in the final phase of its completion. Other participating contractors includes Finite Reimaging of Doraville, GA, coating installer and Construction Resource Group, Union, SC, CoatMasters product distributor in the South East.

 

CM Matte coating for CalTrans-Sound Wall Barriers, Anaheim, CA

IMRAE, partnered with Fullmer Construction and CC Myers, provided anti-graffiti sealer/stain on the new sound absorbing (SoundSorb®) walls on the “Gene Autry Way”  on the Interstate 5 in the City of Anaheim,” a project by CALTRANS and the City of Anaheim. These installed precast wall panels are SoundSorb textured with Ashlar Stone and are designed to absorb approximately 90% of the traffic noise.

The sealer/stain (Yosemite brown color) applied on the concrete wall panel is tinted with our proprietary blend of colorants. Field testing by the designer and city inspectors preferred the CM Sealer/Stain due to it ability to sustain the sound absorptive characteristics, excellent hiding, color blend performance, and enhanced aesthetic appearance. Unlike, other coatings or paints the film properties of the sealer/stain helps maintain the breathability and absorptive qualities of the panels.

Stonebilt Concepts of Henderson, Colorado fabricated and applied the CM Sealer/Stain tinted to Davis-Outback color on MSE wall in Fruita, Mesa County, CO.

CM Matte coating on MSE wall for GADOT-SR316 Collins Rd., GA

Reinforced Earth Company of Atlanta, Georgia fabricated MSE panels below and installed by Tricor Construction applied the CM Sealer/Stain tinted to FED 36622 in the GADOT-SR316 Collins Rd., project in Georgia
